We went here for breakfast and loved it! The coffee (I hade a latte and my boyfriend had a cappuccino) was high quality and well made. The food was SO GOOD - fresh ingredients and so flavorful. They did forget my boyfriends order twice but honestly the weather was wonderful, the outdoor seating had a great vibe so we didn't mind waiting for his food. Great experience overall and if we lived nearby would definitely eat at Bella Cafe again.

This is my most favorite Italian cafe with full menus of food, deserts, and hot/cold drinks. Espresso is to die for. Pizzas are so delicious and pastas are original northern Italy recipes. I highly recommend Bella Cafe to all tourists and San Francisco residents. Come and try it out for yourself.

I came to SF for my masters and have been living in Nobhill for 4 years now. I saw this place opened recently and decided to check it out. I was at the register asking if the hot chocolate was made with real cacao like the ones in Europe and while the cashier said they make it with Ghirardheli powder, a man interrupted our conversation to say, “ We are not hiring. “ I was being amicable and was smiling and froze since never in my life have I faced this level of stereotyping or discrimination. I didn’t answer back because I never mistreat people at service. I know my privilege. But it turns out the person who spoke to me was THE Italian OWNER. I was flabbergasted and very uncomfortable but truly I didn’t know what to do. I later told the waiter how wrong of a thing to say to a customer that was. He replied it was a joke. I told him, “it’s wrong to discriminate, you are in California.” Ultimately, im never coming back to this new place. Fidi is my home being beside Nobhill and this interaction by an OWNER is just unacceptable. Terrible values. I visited Bella Cafe recently and had a genuinely lovely experience. The atmosphere is warm, cozy, and welcoming, making it a great spot for catching up with friends or enjoying a quiet moment alone. The interior is tastefully decorated, with comfortable seating and soft music that doesn’t overpower conversation. I ordered a cappuccino and a croissant, and both exceeded my expectations. The coffee was rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced, clearly made with quality beans. The croissant was fresh, flaky, and buttery, tasting like it came straight from a bakery. Service was another highlight of my visit. The staff were friendly, attentive, and patient, taking time to explain menu options and make recommendations. My order came out quickly, even though the cafe was fairly busy at the time. Prices are reasonable for the quality and portion sizes you receive. Overall, Bella Cafe is a wonderful place to relax, enjoy great coffee, and feel genuinely welcomed. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable neighborhood cafe with charm, and consistent quality keeps me coming back again.

My favorite Union Square lunch place. Bella Café is such a hidden gem! The La Traviata sandwich is insanely good; fresh ingredients and tons of flavor. The Italian pastries and desserts all look amazing (and taste just as good!). Super dog-friendly spot with the nicest, most welcoming family-run team. You can really feel the love here.
